For tour operators & agencies

Your ground partner in Algeria

Add Algeria to your programme with a licensed Algerian operator handling everything on the ground.

Quick answer

Algeria Compass is a licensed Algerian tour operator in Algiers that works as the ground partner for tour operators, travel agencies and expedition organisers abroad. We handle itineraries, hotels, 4x4 vehicles and drivers, licensed local and Tuareg guides, Sahara permits, domestic flights and visa paperwork, with net rates quoted per programme. We have worked in Algerian tourism for over seven years and hold a 5.0 rating on Google.

Algeria is the largest country in Africa, with seven UNESCO World Heritage sites, the biggest slice of the Sahara and very few visitors. For a tour operator that is the opportunity — and the reason a local partner matters: desert permits, internal flights and visa paperwork have to be handled in-country, by a licensed operator, in Arabic and French. That is what we do.

What we handle

Everything on the ground

Itinerary design

Your route, your branding — or one of our tested programmes, adapted to your clients.

Hotels

From traditional guesthouses and desert camps to five-star hotels in Algiers, Oran and Constantine.

4x4 fleet & drivers

Experienced desert drivers, vehicles for the north and the Sahara, and support vehicles for expeditions.

Licensed guides

Local guides at every site and Tuareg guides and crews in the deep south.

Permits

Sahara and national-park permits and the formalities for protected zones, applied for as a licensed operator.

Domestic flights

Algiers to Djanet, Timimoun, Ghardaïa and the other southern gateways, booked as part of the programme.

Visa paperwork

Invitation letters and confirmed programmes for consulates — and, for organised Sahara programmes, the Saharan visa-on-arrival authorisation.

On the ground, 24/7

One operations contact in Algeria for you and your tour leader, day and night, throughout the trip.

Expeditions

4x4 and motorbike raids

Algeria has some of the greatest desert driving in the world — the Tadrart, the Tassili, the Grand Erg Occidental around Timimoun — and almost none of it is on the expedition circuit yet. We organise vehicle expeditions with the permits, guides and accompaniment the authorities require in the south, plus support vehicles, camps and logistics.

If your participants bring their own vehicles or motorbikes from abroad, there are extra formalities, starting with temporary import. We check every route and every requirement with you before you put a date on sale.

How we work

From brief to departure

  1. Your brief. Tell us the kind of trip, group size, season, length and hotel level — or send an itinerary you already sell elsewhere.
  2. Proposal & net rates. We send a day-by-day programme and partner net rates per person by group size, with exactly what is included.
  3. Feasibility confirmed. Permits, domestic flights and anything route-specific are checked and confirmed in writing before you sell.
  4. Deposit & balance. A deposit secures the dates; the balance is due before arrival. Payment by bank transfer, card or PayPal.
  5. We run it. Arrival to departure: transfers, guides, vehicles, hotels and a 24/7 operations line.

Questions partners ask

Do you work with foreign tour operators and travel agencies?

Yes. Algeria Compass is a licensed Algerian tour operator based in Algiers, and we act as the ground handler (receptive operator) for agencies and tour operators abroad — hotels, transport, guides, permits, domestic flights and visa paperwork, under your brand or ours.

What are your partner rates?

Partner rates are net rates, quoted per programme and group size, below our public prices. The public prices on this site — for example €920 per person for seven days in the Tadrart Rouge — are the retail reference. Send us the programme and group size and we quote net.

Can you organise 4x4 or motorbike expeditions (raids) in Algeria?

Yes, on many routes, with the permits and accompaniment the authorities require, which we arrange as the licensed operator. Expeditions with vehicles brought from abroad need extra steps, including temporary import of the vehicles, so we confirm feasibility route by route before you sell anything.

How do your clients get a visa?

Most nationalities need a visa. We prepare the invitation letter and confirmed programme that Algerian consulates ask for, with any programme of at least 3 days that includes airport transfers. For organised programmes that include the Sahara, such as Djanet or Timimoun, our Saharan visa authorisation lets the visa be issued on arrival at Algiers airport. We confirm the route for each nationality.

Which languages do your guides speak?

Our guides work in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, German, Russian.

How does payment work?

A deposit secures the dates once permits and flights are confirmed, and the balance is due before arrival. Payment is by bank transfer, card or PayPal.
